Chris joined my newly formed Philosophy group 18 years ago. He was the first person to join and he stayed a loyal member until his death, never missing a session and always enthusiastic. His interest in science and cosmology always enlivened our discussions as well as his enthusiasm for so many diverse interests. He was always up to date on new ideas and ideologies and current affairs. I am so grateful to him for his many contributions and also for his friendship. We shall all miss him greatly as will the many old people locally he visited out of kindness and a wish to add something extra to their lives, the same spirit he embodied in his long support for World Vision and his wish to help disadvantaged children.
